Frequently asked questions
How does the sketch effect work?
The photo is turned to greyscale, an inverted and blurred copy is laid over it with a "colour dodge" blend, and only the edges remain as pencil lines. Higher strength gives thicker, darker lines.
Which photos give the best result?
Sharp, well-lit photos with clear outlines: portraits, animals, buildings. Very dark or blurry photos produce faint lines; brighten them first or raise the strength.
Can I print the drawing large?
Yes. The sketch keeps the resolution of your photo (up to 4000 px). To print it across several pages, use Poster Maker (Split Photo into A4 Pages).
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The drawing is made in your browser and your photos never leave your device.
