Magic Eraser

Paint over a tourist in the background, a bin, a cable or a date stamp, and AI fills the spot with what should be behind it. Only the painted area changes; the rest of the photo stays exactly as it was.

Your images stay on your device. Processing happens entirely in your browser.

How to use Magic Eraser

  1. Drop or choose a photo.
  2. Paint over what you want to remove (use the eraser to fix mistakes).
  3. Click "Erase", compare before and after with the slider and download the photo.

Frequently asked questions

What can I remove?

Small to medium objects work best: people in the background, cables, signs, stains, spots, text and date stamps. Very large areas or complex structures (e.g. half a building) may look smudged; erase in several smaller steps instead.

How do I get the best result?

Paint slightly beyond the edges of the object, including its shadow. Erase one object at a time: download the result, open it again and remove the next one.

Why does the first run take longer?

The first time, the MI-GAN AI model (about 28 MB, MIT licence) is downloaded from Hugging Face and stored by your browser. After that it starts quickly.

Is the quality of my photo reduced?

Only the painted area is regenerated; everything else keeps its pixels. Photos larger than 3072 px on the long side are reduced to 3072 px. To enlarge the result, use AI Image Upscaler.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The AI runs in your browser. Only the model file is downloaded; your photos never leave your device.
