PNG/JPG to SVG

Turn a logo, icon, drawing or simple graphic into an SVG file that stays sharp at any size. Colours are reduced to the number you choose and each colour area is traced into smooth curves.

Your images stay on your device. Processing happens entirely in your browser.

How to use PNG/JPG to SVG

  1. Drop or choose one or more images.
  2. Choose the number of colours, the detail level and the curve style.
  3. Click "Convert to SVG" and download the files.

Frequently asked questions

Which images work best?

Logos, icons, drawings, signatures and graphics with clear, flat colour areas. Photos can be converted too, but they become poster-like and the file can get large; use fewer colours and low detail for photos.

What do the options do?

"Colours" sets how many colour layers the SVG has (2 for black-and-white logos and signatures). "Detail" decides how small a speck can be before it is ignored. "Smooth curves" gives rounded shapes; "Straight lines" keeps hard corners for pixel art and technical drawings.

Is there a size limit?

Images larger than about 4 megapixels are reduced to 4 MP before tracing so it stays fast. Tracing runs in a background process and can be cancelled. To make a PNG with a transparent background first, use Remove Background.

Which tracing engine is used?

VTracer by visioncortex (MIT licence), compiled to WebAssembly and running in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
