Remove Photo Metadata (EXIF)

Phone photos often hide the place they were taken, the phone model and the date. Remove that information before sharing. For JPEG, PNG and WebP the image itself is untouched, so quality stays exactly the same.

Your images stay on your device. Processing happens entirely in your browser.

How to use Remove Photo Metadata (EXIF)

  1. Drop or choose your photos (several at once is fine).
  2. Click "Remove metadata"; you will see what was found and removed.
  3. Download the clean photos and share them safely.

Frequently asked questions

What is EXIF and why remove it?

EXIF is information embedded in the photo: GPS location, date, phone model and camera settings. When you share the file by email, cloud link or listing, the recipient gets it too.

Does it reduce quality?

Not for JPEG, PNG and WebP: only the metadata blocks are removed. Rotated JPEGs are re-saved at high quality so they still display upright; HEIC files are converted to JPG.

Don't social networks remove it anyway?

Most big platforms strip it when publishing, but email, cloud sharing, classified sites and some messengers (when sending as a file) do not.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Cleaning happens in your browser and your photos never leave your device.
